- joining a community garden (to grow your own food)
- buying vegetables from a fruit and vegetable co operative (All Saints Church)
- learning how to cook
- knowing where water fountains are located around Dunedin
- knowing where food banks and food distribution centres are located if you have no food and no money.
- Getting a cheap bike and learning how to repair and maintain it.
- knowing where community orchards are located around Dunedin, and knowing what kind of fruit and nuts you are able to freely forage for in these orchards.
